Free adapters will be available to eligible owners of the following models: Model-year 2024 and earlier KONA Electric, IONIQ hatchback, IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6 2025 IONIQ 6, 2025 IONIQ 5 N and 2025 KONA Electric A 2024 IONIQ 5 is connected via NACS adapter to a Tesla Supercharger in Santa Monica, Calif. on Dec. 16, 2024.

Hyundai IONIQ 5, IONIQ 6, Kona Electric, and IONIQ hatch owners who bought or leased their vehicle on or before January 31, 2025, can get a free NACS adapter to charge up at Tesla Superchargers.

There are 3 types of Tesla Superchargers: Tesla-only Superchargers, which only work for Tesla vehicles. All EVs Superchargers, which are available for all EVs to charge with a "Magic Dock" adapter that is provided at the charging post. NACS Superchargers, which will become available gradually, by vehicle manufacturer, and can be accessed through an adapter. The adapter has to be provided.

The 2025 editions of the IONIQ 6, IONIQ 5 N, and KONA Electric will also qualify. The 2025 IONIQ 5 wouldn't need the adapter as it is factory-fitted with NACS ports. With NACS adapters, American Hyundai EV drivers' public charging prospect will expand to more than 38,000 fast DC chargers, including Combined Charged System (CCS) charging.
